In the Beginning

WARNING: The following is not an attempt to over dramatize.

Ryan Pulliam, my Zorazon partner, and I are competitors by nature. Growing up about a mile from each other's homes and being surrounded by hills and corn gave little but lends itself to creativity. Following that creativity, we created competitions. Ryan and I have invested ourselves in thousands upon thousands of competitions. Anything that we could compete each against the other at, we did. This was simply what we enjoyed.

I believe it started in study hall, though I may be wrong. Ryan and I found ourselves with nothing to do (or maybe we did and we just weren't doing it). I don't know who purposed the thought, but we soon found ourselves in another competition with each other: who could write a more humorous and/or uniquely bizarre sentence (we just labeled it "crazy"). The judging process was very gentleman-like: I would rank his sentence and he would rank mine - the individual with the highest rankings by the end of the game was the winner. It takes a lot of trust to put your ranking in the hands of the competition, but since there wasn't an available, unbiased third party it seemed the most sensible thing to do. And so it began: the ongoing competition of who could write the craziest sentence.

Ryan and I continued exchanging sentences through high school, college and into our professional careers. We have always had aspirations of doing something with our sentences but nothing ever developed. We made a book of "Hall of Famers", but that's as far as we had gotten. It wasn't until appropriately timed nudging by some friends and family that really got us on our feet. The idea: turn them into greeting cards. Now nearly ten years (and hundreds of sentences) later we have incorporated it and given it a name: Zorazon.

We have many ideas for different lines that Zorazon will produce. Our first line we have created is an illustration series. We decided to harness the artistic genius of Matt Hronick, a longtime friend of Ryan's, to illustrate the cards. With his unique perspective and amazing God-given ability, this line is eye catching. Besides our line of illustrated cards, we have in the works a line of photograph cards. This is where Zorazon becomes interactive. We plan to engage the public by sending us photographs with the chance of them becoming greeting cards. Everybody has a picture that's worthy of showing- this is their opportunity. The more unique, the more amazing, the more bizarre, the better. This is just one of the many ideas that we plan to implement with Zorazon Creations.

Interesting background fact:
Majoring in cinema and photography in college Peter has been behind the camera since he was trusted with one at the young age of nine.
