The Company
It all started with a competition. Ryan Pulliam and Peter Craig, two high schoolers facing off to see who could possibly script the most creatively-bizzare sentence. The competition grew. The sentences increased. The archives multiplied. Nobody knew it was the beginning of something so cool.
Eight years later those very same sentences, meant initially to relieve the boredom of study hall monotony, now are the creative kick behind Zorazon Creations, a breath of fresh air to the ever-changing world of creativity. "We have always had aspirations of doing something with our sentences but nothing ever developed." Peter explains. "It wasn't until appropriately timed nudging by some friends and family that really got us on our feet. The idea: turn the sentences into greeting cards."
Like Voltron, all the parts were coming to together; they just needed a name. What would this newly formed creation be called? "The original title of our sentence competition was WCSCOTW (World Crazy Sentences Championship of the World)," Peter laughs. "We didn't think that would be very marketable." Then, like a bolt of lightning, it came. "Zorazon," the very same name that propelled Peter's father, Ellis, into lesser known, rock-n-roll history. "It was perfect. Zorazon had to be the name," Peter exclaims.
On paper the idea sounded wonderful, but the sentences on their own wouldn't cut it. The cards needed visual punch, something to K.O. the reader the moment they laid eyes on them. It was soon decided that they would start out with two lines of cards: Photograph cards and Illustrated cards. Having access to a lot of family attics, they knew there wouldn't be a problem scoring some old school pictures, but the question was, "Who was going to draw?" It was soon realized that they needed the touch of master artist, Matt Hronick. "While at college Matt Hronick, the Zorazon artist, became one of my best friends..." Ryan describes. "Peter and I asked Matt to help us illustrate our writings to add the necessary visual touch to the cards."
Though the sentences had the potential of becoming something monumental, they needed an editor, someone with the ability to see through monstrous scribblings of two mad competitors and put on the finishing touches. In came Rachel Craig, Peter's sister. Rachel's lawyer background gave her the edge the team was looking for when contemplating the necessity of an editor.
Now Zorazon is in it's first leg of the card making business. The idea was formed and the team assembled. Its been an interesting beginning and they are excited and ready for what's next.
